Posted by: 3 Putt In: Backyard Putting Greens

my middle daughter is have her 8th birthday party next saturday!!

it’s luau theme and she has invited 25 kids (12 are confirmed already)

we are making name surf boards (the dollar store had wooden ones the kids can stamp their names on then use markers to color the flowers or tiki masks on them), playing outdoor water games (balloon pop-popping balloons by sitting on them in pools filled with water. sprinkler freeze-kids run in sprinklers and freeze when music stops. wet pant relay-kids will divide into 2 teams and take turns dipping sleep pants into water, putting them on then running to fence and back. limbo-typical limbo game), we’ll have chicken teryaki skewers, fruit skewers, and mixed nuts along with cake and drinks.

her cake will be plain white (with chocolate mousse filling) and will have 4 mini hula dancer dolls made out of cake on top)

guests will be greeted at the door and given their leis and grass skirts made out of ribbon and green paper streamers.

at end of party, kids will get to take turns hitting a parrot pinata. they’ll receive sandpails w/shovels as goodie bags and fil them w/their candy from the pinata, hibiscus bubbles, stickers, and plastic hibiscus drink cups.

her gifts from us are:

-2 games for her leapster (handheld game system she got for christmas)
-american girl Chrissa
-high school musical sharpay doll w/mustang car
-summer outfit
-new swimsuit

so what do you think? nice, just right party or too much?!!

She’s a lucky little girl, take lots of photos so when she’s older she can look back and go "awww"

just have her help set EVERYTHING up with you and CLEAN up afterwords!! just because it’s her birthday doesn’t mean she can skip out on the planning and preparing and cleaning!! a birthday party is a privilege not a right
